Privacy Notice

This notice describes information collected when someone uses Grainger County Released Inmates, how that information supports the service, and when it may pass to another party. It also covers cookies, outside links, security practices, and individual choices. By continuing to use the site, a visitor accepts the practices stated here.

Information You Submit

Terms Entered in Search

A name, county, state, or other term entered in a search box is sent to the third-party company that operates that tool. Grainger County Released Inmates does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider’s privacy terms govern its receipt and use of the query.

Messages Sent to Us

If you email us or use a contact form, we retain the message and contact details as needed to read and answer it. We do not share that correspondence outside our organization unless disclosure is required by law or a valid legal process.

Automatic Technical Information

Ordinary server, analytics, and advertising technologies can collect technical data when a page loads. This helps the site function and shows broad use patterns. The data may include:

  • Internet Protocol address;
  • browser name and version;
  • device type and operating system;
  • pages viewed and time spent on them;
  • the referring website, when supplied; and
  • date and time stamps.

Cookie Controls

Cookies and similar storage can help measure visits and remember basic preferences. A visitor may block or delete them through browser settings. Some page functions, advertising, or measurement features may work differently when cookies are disabled.

How Information Is Used

Collected data supports limited operating purposes. It is used to:

  • keep pages available and responsive;
  • send a search request to the selected partner;
  • understand which resources visitors use;
  • identify errors, abuse, and technical failures; and
  • display advertising that may reflect visitor interests.

Privacy Beyond This Site

Links may lead to the Grainger County sheriff, Tennessee correctional agencies, release or court records, federal portals, and outside search services. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination’s privacy notice and data practices apply. We do not control those systems.

Some advertising companies may measure activity across multiple websites to select or assess interest-based ads. That processing occurs through the advertising company’s technology and is governed by its terms, not by this notice alone.

Parties Receiving Information

We do not sell personal information. Information may still be transmitted or disclosed to a limited set of recipients as part of normal operation:

  • search providers that process a submitted query;
  • analytics services that measure site use;
  • advertising networks that deliver or assess ads; and
  • law enforcement or government bodies responding to a valid legal order.

Reasonable Security Measures

We use customary administrative and technical steps intended to protect data in our care. No website, network, or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. We therefore cannot promise that a system will never be accessed, lost, altered, or disclosed without authorization.

Visitors Under Eighteen

This service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor sent personal information may contact us to request review and deletion.

Your Privacy Choices

Subject to applicable law and our ability to verify the request, a visitor may:

  • ask for a copy of personal data we hold;
  • seek correction of inaccurate personal information;
  • request deletion of personal data; and
  • object to or opt out of certain processing where that right applies.

These requests concern data held by this private site. A correction to a Tennessee public record must be directed to the government custodian that maintains it under its own law and procedure.

Changes to This Notice

We may revise this privacy notice as technology, services, or legal duties change. The current version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date when a revision takes effect.
